The worse a person is the less he feels it." ~ Seneca (Not Marcus oops! Both Stoics)
Obesity is a national health crisis—that much we know. If current trends continue, it will soon surpass smoking in the U.S. as the biggest single factor in early death, reduced quality of life and added health care costs. A third of adults in the U.S. are obese, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and another third are overweight, with Americans getting fatter every year. Obesity is responsible for more than 160,000 "excess" deaths a year, according to a study in the Journal of the American Medical Association. The average obese person costs society more than $7,000 a year in lost productivity and added medical treatment, say researchers at George Washington University.
When we undertake the behaviors and actions to bring our bodies into alignment we are in effect cleaning our sheet / slate. When we don't make this effort, we are allowing stain after stain to encumber or bodies until we hardly feel our bodies or recognize ourselves.
We stop noticing so much the stains we have allowed when our live as a soiled sheet.
Make the effort. Start cleaning off your personal sheet TODAY.
Tomorrow never comes.
Now is the only moment we really have.
Take a walk. Eat a healthy meal. Drink some extra water.
Each one of these actions is a rinsing off of your sheet. Do it consistently and you will regain recognition of yourself. You'll begin to feel the signals of your body again. There are no words profound enough to convey this feeling.
Talk to someone who has gone through the process of cleaning their sheet.
Get a coach, an accountability partner.
Make it happen.
My best, Joshua.
