Body Fat Challenge
An eight week guided health and fitness transformation project creating healthier, happier and more effective organization, employees and or workplace.

NETFit Fitness Services and Team Beachbody are committed to helping your organization and its members move toward a healthier lifestyle. We have created a system of implementing wellness modules that address some of the most common issues today around health and wellness. We understand the impact optimal health has not only on the individual but on their contribution to family, the work place and society as whole. 

Why Focus on Health and Fitness?

About half of all deaths in the U.S. can be attributed to preventable behaviors and exposures, according to a study in the Journal of the American Medical Association. While most of the major preventable causes of death declined or changed little since 1990, deaths due to poor diet and physical inactivity increased 33 percent, according to the CDC study.  Recent research shows that over 50% of absenteeism is attributable to stress and stress-related illnesses. And it's no wonder stress contributes to many of the major health problems faced by nation's workforce including high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity, back pain, and more  Weight-related costs including healthcare, productivity, and absenteeism are costing employers approximately $12 billion per year.

Employees with poor eating habits generated 41 percent more health case claim costs and employees who were 20% above their normal weight range had hospital integration rates that were 143 percent higher than any other health risk group.

We can prevent many of these deaths and enhance quality of life for millions of people if we can help them build positive rituals around exercise, nutrition, managing stress, as well as enhancing social networks and economic conditions, clarify lifestyle values, and achieve a sense of fulfillment in their intellectual pursuits. Studies have shown that group wellness programs help organizations reduce their healthcare costs, reduce absenteeism increase performance, productivity and job satisfaction. 


The process

During the eight week period we will create a few significant new habits and behaviors around physical activity, nutrition, supplementation, rest and hydration. We will implement a support structure including the following.

Daily Fitness Text Check In: (Price: $25 per month)
This is designed to be a daily reminder to participants of the journey we are on together. It is a daily opportunity to check in and ask ourselves, “Am I doing my best? Am I keeping my agreements to myself?” If you answer is “yes”, great keep going. If you find your answer is “no”, then it is time to ask yourself what choices could you have made differently and work toward implementing that choice with the support of your coach and accountability partner.

Customized Nutrition Plan: (Price: $50 one time)
Research show that 80% of our health and fitness results comes from our nutrition. We must learn how to eat the proper amounts of protein, fats and carbohydrates and at the proper times for high metabolic function. Each individual will be provided with a custom meal plan to help them make the best nutrition possible choices. Note that hydration is critical for optimum health. We will focus on increasing water intake. The online goals tracker and coaching calls will help build adherence and success.

Physical Activity: (Price: $60-120 one time)
Participants are given the opportunity to choose and commit to a program from the diverse world class programs created by Team Beachbody, programs like P90X, Power90, Slim in Six, INSANITY, Turbo Jam, Body Gospel and more. Note that rest is a critical part of success and recovery. We will be tracking and increasing healthy rest/sleep habits. The online goals tracker and coaching calls will help build adherence and success. Library of Programs click here.

FIT CLUB: We recommend one or more weekly group training sessions at the office or other agreed upon location where participants come to support each other and share the workout experience together.

Supplementation: (Price: $90-120)
We can not receive all the nutrients we need in this day and age due to our agricultural practices. I recommend and use Shakeology. This patent-pending daily nutritional shake helps your body gently eliminate toxins more efficiently while allowing for better absorption of the essential nutrients you need.
What It Does: In an independent 90-day study, participants replaced one meal a day with Shakeology ® and exercised regularly.

They lowered their total cholesterol levels by an average of 30% and their "bad" cholesterol levels by an average of 38%.

Accountability Coaching: (Price: $40/half hour)
The journey to health and fitness transformation is one rooted in behavior change and adherence to the new behaviors. *Between 76-82% of those who begin a fitness program will drop out before achieving any significant results. *Those will a coach or accountability partner have a 50-80% higher rate of success. *Cooper Institute.

Participants will be guided through a goal reaching session. This session will clearly outline the activity, nutrition and supplementation goals. Goals will be based on incremental success vs. ambitious failure. A B.M.C. or Behavior Management Contract will be created for each participant. This agreement outlines the percentage of adherence each individual is committing to. 100% adherence is not realistic and is not our goal. 70-90% is realistic and this is what our BMC will be based on. BMC’s will be reviewed weekly either in a group or individual conference call session depending on group preference. The BMC will also consist of a pre determined reward or consequence. If participants achieve their declared adherence percentage, a reward is earned. If not, the consequence is earned.

Participants will be paired off with a fitness accountability partner. This buddy system will serve to provide daily support by touching based daily and reporting your progress to your buddy. This support system will also reveal quickly those who are struggling with their declared goals.  


The B O D Y F A T Challenge Prize pool
To add an additional level of interest an excitement participants may choose to collectively participate in a monthly challenge. It is recommended that all participants pledge an agreed upon sum of money ($40+-) to a collective pool or prize pot. At the beginning of the month all participants have their body fat percentage measured and documented. At the beginning of the following month measurements are taken again. The person or team with the greatest decrease of body fat wins the sum of the prize pot. NETFit will administer the testing for accuracy.    


FIT for a cause
This journey toward health and fitness can be a great way to raise awareness and funds for a cause or community outreach program. Choose an organization your group would like to help. Begin taking dollar amount pledges from family and friends based on the number of pounds you loose during the eight week program. Consider using Social Media to spread the word and generate pledges.
